Characterise your hometown with a single picture. What would be something (famous landmarks aside) that would give a stranger a good idea what makes the town or city you live in special or remarkable?

To give you an example: my hometown, Münster in Westphalia/Germany, is full of bikes and churches.

Standard rules apply.

Follow all relevant local laws regarding stay-at-home orders. If you can't go outside, try and take a photo at home or grab one from the archives.
  • Do not comment, vote, react or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced.
  • The photographs must be your own work.
  • You may only submit one photo per contest.
  • This contest runs for one week. If in doubt, check the dates in the title.
  • At the end of the week, The Judge will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, then last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 2nd place be similarly unable to officiate.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
  • Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
  • Contest ends at the end of 4/8/21, Central European Summer Time.

I think this pretty much describes Nashville, a tornado went though March '20 about the time COVID19 took off. The tornado victims seemed to have been forgotten and much of the damage has just been covered with tarps.

Penn Yan, NY Home of Birkett Mills makers of Buckwheat products. Not a great photo, was taken for Grandson's school project. You can his "Flat Santa" on the bottom left. They used to sponsor an annual Buckwheat festival with live entertainment and all kinds of food booths and agricultural displays. Got to be too expensive. I think they still hold the record for the largest pancake ever made.

An era past when Orlando was known for oranges and cattle...not the Mouse. The Citrus Tower was a landmark along US27 - a major North-South route, but today the view from the top is no longer miles and miles of orange groves...but rooftops.

Chautauqua Park in Boulder. It's the start of a ton of great hiking and running trails, which is the big reason a lot of people move here. It's also the view from the window behind my desk (though a bit further away) that has made this whole work from home thing significantly more pleasant! I'm amazed with how far technology has come, this photo was taken handheld last night with my G5X. It would have required a tripod with my old DSLR, and here's a point and shoot that's almost as good without needing to lug around a tripod!

I have to admit, I’m completely lost on what everyone is talking about here for @Clix Pix to look at. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
