So, the theme for this week is Inky Black.
I am going through a dark period right now. I am loving deep deep blacks in Black and White images. I am looking at Infrared Images and that dark dark high contract look and I really like it. As an example see below, I want you to show me your deep Black and White images, show me some light and shadow play, some ominous shadows or some Fine Art B&W architecture and waterfall shots, if not that then just some nice dark images with deep inky blacks in them. Most of all, have a go and have fun trying it.

The usual rules apply:

· The photographs must be your own work.

· Be creative and have fun.

· You may only submit one photo per contest.

· Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.

· The contest runs for one week, starting NOW!

· At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.

· If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline for close, then a vote will be carried out to select a winner. This will be based on the number of "likes" each image has. In the event of a draw, the second place winner from the previous week will choose the tiebreaker.

· The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

· Winners please update the Weekly Photo Contest Master thread at :

I particularly love this picture because that astonished tourist in the middle of the isle.

I tried a little bit old school newspaper look. What do you guys think?
Notre Dame? I’m always a sucker for gothic cathedrals. Favorite architectural period, really, and I was once an architecture student. My favorite is Bourges.

Philadelphia.
I am not going to be able to get out this weekend, so this is from a few years ago.

The Allegheny River Trail is an abandoned rail bed that was reclaimed and paved over to become a hike/bike trail that runs about 32 miles along Pennsylvania's Allegheny River. It is a spectacular place. The trail includes 2 tunnels. This is the literal light at the end of the tunnel. (2868' (874m) Rockland Tunnel.) It really is that black inside, even so close to the end.
