Ladies and Gentlemen,

After two weeks of depressing themes (digital life & alone), it's an honor to announce and welcome you to 2019's last contest, ironically themed: "Xmas Past".

We all know what kind of emotional roller-coasters these contests are, with their up's and down's, through cheers and tears, elation and distress. Who would've thought that a self-regenerating thread in a niche subforum would gather such loyal and vast following from the four corners of the world. Despite the grief, yes you know what I'm talking about, so, despite the grief we've had with the Ansel Adams institute, as to which is the longest standing contest, we're here to prove them wrong. We will be recognized as such, a vibrant community kept alive by its members, with MacRumors selflessly providing the venue for all of us to practice and compete, and with management signing open checks for all the legal resources we may need to overturn the district court's decision.

So my jolly fellows, may we all raise our glasses (?), cookies (?) and toast in unison;

To The Next One!

The XMAS rules apply:
· You can react to photos, but only with heart .
· I will take into consideration the public vote, so react wisely.
· Do not comment on the photographs but please feel free to bring season's jolliness & eggnog to the thread.
· The photographs must be your own work, and you may only submit one photo per contest.
· This contest runs for TWO weeks, if in doubt, check the dates in the title.
· At the end of the week, Santa Claus (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
· If Santa Claus is still feeding amazon prime, rendering him unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 1st and 2nd place remain stranded over at Lat: 79.52746, Lon: 92.86488.
· The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and enact St Nicholas for that contest. Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place, etc.
-Be sure to update the Contest Masterlist as soon as you post a new theme.

So to clarify, this is an actual Christmas/whatever-holiday-you-celebrate photo?

And in a very circular story, the tiny boy in this photo will be given the very camera used to take this photo as a Christmas present from me. For his very own.

The original Christmas Post Office. Yes, there is a town called Christmas and its current Post Office (historically, the third post office) continues the tradition, becoming a mecca for generations to mail Christmas cards from. To avoid the non-descript stamp cancellation imprint of the auto processing machines, they set up a couple self-service stations in the lobby with inkpad and the official "Christmas, FL" Post Office stamp where you hand cancel each stamp then deposit in a special box to bypass the mechanical cancellation process.
