Happy holidays, everyone, whatever you celebrate, even if it's only New Year's. Please note this week's challenge runs a few days longer than normal since many people travel or are otherwise unavailable. I think by January 4th we should all be back to mostly normal. 🙂
This week I would love to see your favorite or best photo of 2022! Any genre, any camera, your single favorite (or best, I'm not really picky on this...sometimes our best technically aren't very exciting, and sometimes our very favorite might not be the best on a technical basis...choose either category) photo from 2022. The only requirement for this is that you took it during this calendar year; archive photos earlier not eligible.
And while necessary, I'd love a little explanation as to why you chose the photo you did.
Usually by this time of the year I have 3-10 favorites, and it's always hard to narrow it down. I have other images that I'd say were better on a "portfolio" basis, but I am choosing this photo because it includes Halley (not always cooperative, but adorable when she does), film, medium format, and home development of film. For me it's the combination of all factors that put this at the top of the list this year.
As always, standard rules apply:

As always, standard rules apply:
- The photographs must be your own work
- You may only submit one photo per contest.
- No commenting or liking photos until after the judging has taken place.
- This contest runs for about a week and a half, starting now.
- At the end of the competition, the judge (last week's winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
- The 1st place winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
- Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
