With the spring just around the corner, at least here on the northern hemisphere, new theme for this week's contest is - New growth.

Want to see more entries this week, so take your gear and find some colourful new additions to our world :)

Standard rules apply:
  • Do not comment, vote, react or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced. In keeping with our most recent tradition, violators may be awarded first place. Henceforth this shall be known as the Molly-ing rule in honour of our friend and fellow perpetrator.
  • The photographs must be your own work.
  • This contest runs for one week. If in doubt, please check the title or description.
  • At the end of the week, The Judge will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, then last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 2nd place be similarly unable to officiate.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
  • Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
  • Contest ends on March 24th at 23.59 CET

Hi guys,

here are my thoughts about this week’s entries, they are all great and as you will read further down, colourful.

@someoldguy - very nice little sprout, it shows that not all leaves must be green, like the contrast with dark background and pinky(ish) leaves warming up in the sun, who would say that one day it will be the queen of the flowers

@oblomow - great picture showing new growth, beginning of the life, lovely colours and interesting view into the nest, hair look a bit like mine

@Fravin - great example of different shapes in nature, like the perspective looking up through the greenery

@Janichsan - lovely shot with great colours, like the greens in there and colour contrast, another one sun bathing and enjoying warmth coming with the spring

@hurstja - another nice picture, great detail and colours, these guys are probably still caterpillars in our country

@kenoh - I'm going to repeat myself, but love the colours on this one, that pink/red against the blue/grey very much pleased my eye

@mollyc - not surprising that mollyc's entry is once again one of the best, great image, love it

@OldMacs4Me - did I mention something about great colours in nature before? no, so here is very good example, like these flowers, we've got something very similar here in Slovakia

@dmb8021 - Okay, I promise, that would be my last mention of colours with the adjective – awesome

So, tough judging, very good entries, so here is the podium for this week.
