On the brink of summer time (for those in the Northern hemisphere): Time is Money.
We're about to lose an hour. Precious time to spend with family and friends, to make money or to waste sitting in the sun with a beer...

Standard rules apply:
  • Do not comment, vote, react or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced. In keeping with our most recent tradition, violators may be awarded first place. Henceforth this shall be known as the Molly-ing rule in honour of our friend and fellow perpetrator.
  • The photographs must be your own work.
  • This contest runs for one week. If in doubt, please check the title or description.
  • At the end of the week, The Judge will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, then last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 2nd place be similarly unable to officiate.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
  • Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
  • Contest ends on April 3 at 17:00 CEST ( I will be away from home that weekend, so you have 1 extra day, more time. )

Actually ... if it's a tough topic , there'll be less entries , therefore less work judging . Gotta think of something

it is kind of a hard theme this week, but here's another entry.

we do most of our own yard work, other than spring clean up, mulching, and grass fertilizing. my husband enjoys yardwork and we save a lot of money by not hiring out for regular work.

Yes! Number 3. Great. See, the theme isn't that hard... Use your imagination, be creative. Give me some work :)

<Include standard disclaimer.>

I could think of a theme that hasn't been used so it became 'Time is money'. It's good to see that it didn't scare 7 brave people. Thank you.
Here is my opinion.

@Strider64 It looks like a snapshot, but it captures the time quite nicely. Everybody knows the feeling of seeing roadworkers and wondering how much time it's going to cost.

@Susurs Nice shot. A sign saying the train to Brussels was delayed ( or worse: left early ) would really finish it.

@mollyc I appreaciate that you submitted an entry, despite the hard theme. Lovely photo. The philosoper in me thinks the theme is reversed ( money is time ).

@CooperBox This is a weird one. Posted from a zx81, so by someone who values old stuff... The money is pre-Euro. I had to google it. They stopped issuing it in 1958, correct? Did it keep its value over the years?

@TheYayAreaLiving ? What am I seeing? Is it a funeral home? Can't really make it out.

@Darmok N Jalad Another nice shot. It fits the theme. The little dials even resemble clocks. I like it.

@Fravin Did you miss the train to Normandy? Or did you have to wait a long time? I like travelling by train, but when there's a problem you're usually on your own. The alternatives can then be quite pricey.

The results:

honorable mention: @Hughmac ...

3rd : susurs and strider64
2nd : darmok n jalad
1st : cooperbox Although it's a literal interpretation of the theme, the inclusion of the old money makes it intriguing.

On seeing '1st' coupled with my forum name I initially thought that it may have been an April fool prank posted 4 days late! In any case I'm not only honoured but humbled too, especially compared to many of you truly excellent photographers here.
It's strange but the moment I saw the new title 'Time is Money' it immediately struck a chord, and I had a flash thought of an image close to the one I posted. Not surprising as I'm a watch collector and an ex notaphilist (don't bother to Google, it's someone who collects paper money) - or at least used to years ago.
Scottish and French notes always interested me, especially the latter as the pre-euro French banknotes were imho works of art. More so those from the French colonies, two of which I depicted. No idea of the value but the new franc red overprint on the older 1000 franc note occured around 1960. All red overprints are highly sought after by collectors.
My Sinclair ZX81 indication is of course a tongue-in-cheek humerous snub at the 'Sent from my Blackberry' notation one often used to observe. And yes I have a Sinclair ZX81, plus a few other vintage home computers.
I will post a new theme later today.
