The topic this week is "Circular" ... interpret any way you like.

The usual rules apply:

· The photographs must be your own work.

· You may only submit one photo per contest.

· No commenting or liking photos until after the judging has taken place.

· This contest runs for one week, starting now.

· At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.

· The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

Could someone please update the Weekly Contest Master thread for me, thx.

Hematoma. Was going to submit the post surgery stitch bolsters. The bolsters look like marshmallows with stitch through, but more rectangular than circular.

Thanks to all who submitted photos this week, great cross section of ideas for sure. Thanks @Hughmac for updating the Master List. Now on to the judging, keep in mind this is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions, ha ...

@akash.nu Wow, what a way to start us off. Great composition and the colours are fantastic, what a pic.

@USAntigoon Nice photo and an interesting concept for promoting municipal arts.

@oblomow Interesting perspective and great focus on what I assume was a challenging shot.

@katbel Good composition, you really nailed the detail through the whole depth of the sunflower.

@squawk7000 I love this shot, bold and off center but well balanced by the boat and lift, very cool.

@someoldguy Great photo, I love how my eyes move out from the bright center and slowly flows into the background. Well done.

@dmb8021 I really like shots like this and you captured the ride beautifully.

@Janichsan No matter how long I look I can’t quite figure out what is going on here, but I like it very much. The offset center and the subtle shading in the brick work … very nice.

@Hughmac Great use of the lens ball, especially liked how others chimed in with their shots on the POTD thread.

@tizeye Interesting perspective, never would have linked circular to a hematoma but you’ve definitely done it … hope all is well.

@OldMacs4Me What a cool steam powered machine, I can just imagine the roar this makes while running.

@Clix Pix Lens ball shot? It’s certainly circular.

And the winners are …

3rd place tie between @someoldguy and @dmb8021
2nd place @akash.nu
1st place @squawk7000

Again my thanks for those who participated this week, over to you @squawk7000 ...

First, Congratulations to the winners and look forward to next week's topic.

Neither would I have thought of them as circular, but was the surgeons post-surgery debriefing. While I lived with the hematoma for a year hoping it would be re-absorbed naturally, it never would have happened. When he opened it up, was shocked that had containerized itself and crystalized. Much more involved surgery than anticipated taking over 2.5 hours. He described it as the size of a cantaloupe...which supported the circular theme better than the 12 stitch bolsters that look more like marshmallows.

Congratulations to Squawk and everyone on the podium!

Actually, mine isn't a Lensball shot, although it certainly looks that way. It is something called "a crazy circle," which for a while was a fun and popular thing to do some years ago back in my Photoshop days. I can't recall now exactly how one does it, and I no longer use Photoshop, but I'm sure there's still info on the Internet about it. It was surprisingly fun and easy. I was actually looking for a Lensball shot when I ran across this one and decided, "hey, why not?"
