We've been watching Ted Lasso, so soccer has been on my mind. My sons all played when young, only one stayed with it into high school. My wife's two daughters played into high school (but not through). I bought a 200mm Nikon lens so I could get the shots I wanted; I sold all my good gear (the 200, a 90mm Tamron macro, a 50mm, and the 18-200 VR zoom) and my D80 when there weren't any kids around to shoot. I offloaded most of my soccer shots (I have 100s) onto an external hard drive, keeping only a few in Photos. There's really nothing particularly artistic about most sports photos, but they can be quite humorous when action is frozen like this (the "patty-cake" photo):

Not all shots have to be of players. This is the oldest girl, reffing. A surprisingly well-paying gig for that age. She saved it all and paid for something quite sensible (that I can no longer remember—I would have blown it all at that age).
The contest is open to any sport! Doesn’t have to be shots of the actual game, it can be something as simple as pennants displayed about town, or sings posted in shop windows. Anything you’ve actually taken a photo of.
