Contest Topic: Seeing Red

For this week I'd like to suggest two basic suggestions for interpretation of the theme. Either the color red is the primary subject of the image or at least a major component or...images that display the emotion that is meant by the phrase "seeing red". Bonus points for anyone who can combine both!

(If you're unfamiliar with the phrase it means to become angry, be upset, lose control, frustrated, etc...)

Rules:
Be creative and have fun.
You may only submit one photo per contest.
Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.
The contest runs for exactly one week, starting NOW! (see time/date stamp at the start of this thread.)
At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

A big red window (not coloured in Photoshop or anything. It really is that red). The guy on the left doesn't look too happy either.

Sorry for being a little late. I had intentions on getting to this last night but I never had a moment to sit in front of the computer and I also occasionally enjoy sleeping. Thanks for all the entries, as usual they were outstanding. I'll try to do my best...so away we go.

MacRy Red. Yep. I like that there are two layers to this with the glass separating the background and the foreground and that the two guys on the bench have noticed you are taking the picture. It's also well composed since it could've easily been a very busy image. Nicely done.

anotherscotsman Been there a couple times in the last few years. Well done night shot that is pretty difficult to take in that location. I like the color. I wish the heads could be out of the bottom of the image especially the bottom right but I know that's next to impossible.

deep diver Very cool idea and I like the composition. I like how it sweeps up into the upper right corner. The one thing that is a bit distracting is the first few chairs being out of focus.

someoldguy Nicely done and wonderful color. It's hard to isolate leaves or a branch in a shot like this but the darker background helps out.

Alexander.Of.Oz I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I think the off kilter angle works quite well with this image and I like the lighting (or at least how you've handled the available lighting). I'd say the red sail is on the edge of being (or not being) the subject. The only unfortunate thing is I guess the closest person was moving their head a bit when you snapped it. The other individual is nice and sharp.

Hughmac Nice take on the theme. Red in the image and of course, she is seeing red.

Indydenny Nice composition and great capture of an expression. Bonus points for the Apple Watch on Macrumors. Perhaps it was the selective color treatment or maybe it's a low resolution image but I wish her face was a little sharper or perhaps had a bit more structure.

NeGRit0 Well done. HDR is a dangerous thing for me. It's easy to lose control and I no longer like the image. I think it often works well with old and weathered things and your image illustrates that perfectly. The bit in the lower right distracts a bit but overall very nicely done.

Apple fanboy I like it. Wonderful red doors and I like the broom in the middle door. The overall feel is great with the red doors really popping in the image. If I was being extremely nitpicky I'd say the crop is ever so slightly off with a little bit showing on the right but that's about it.

The Bad Guy I'm not sure what to say. If you submitted an image that wasn't perfectly composed, lit, and with perfectly posed models then I might could say something intelligent. You have the theme covered to the hilt. At first I didn't notice the reflection on the floor and then that made the image even better. If I was really forced to say something I might say the chair itself should be centered (more space on the left side of the image) but that's a stretch.

Great images. I like seeing something constant like color as you scroll through all the posts. This was tougher than I thought it would be but there were three I think I'd put at the top for this week.

3rd Place Alexander.Of.Oz Really enjoyed the creativeness of this image.

2nd Place Apple fanboy The red doors are classic.

1st Place The Bad Guy He came in and stole it at the end by crushing the theme with perfect execution.

Congrats to everyone and on to the next one!

In a coffee shop.
Congrats to the winners, especially @Apple fanboy - I thought that was an excellent shot. I loved @Indydenny's picture as well - as it is rather nice - not to mention unusual - to see a normal looking woman with character photographed actually really doing something such as drinking a glass of wine.

Really liked @someoldguy's autumn leaves as well - a timely reminder as to where we are on the year's annual cycle, and @MacRy's shot was very striking and beautifully taken.
