Welcome to this weeks photo contest thread!

This week the theme is In the Kitchen. Interpret it how you will. I'm sure that everyone has something interesting in their kitchen.

Rules:
You may only submit one photo per contest.

Please do not comment or use voting button on photos until after the judging has taken place.

The contest runs for exactly one week, starting NOW! (see time/date stamp at the start of this thread)

At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible. (Judge has 24 hours to make decision).

The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme)

Just our kitchen. I'm a beginner at this, so all criticism will be taken constructively and appreciated.

Had a nice homemade dinner and had to break out the camera.
My wife adores balsamic vinegar and Trader Joes. I might rank third on her list.

Great Photo. I love the shallow depth of field. I have the 50mm 1.8 and it's my favorite lens. Was this shot at 1.2?

Cool view of a restaurant kitchen. I guess they were taking a break.

Love this shot. Very cool interpretation of the theme. What lens did you use for this?

Delectable home made banana bread.

1/20th sec, f/4, ISO640, 75mm
Olympus OM-D E-M5, Olympus 75mm f/1.8

I do love me some banana bread. The knife is a little distracting to me though.

What passes for trick or treating at our house...

A dog wanting some pizza. An all to familiar scene in my hose with my two dogs.

This is a nice shot but to me it's only a snap shot. Maybe approach it from a different angle. Still its nice and sharp. I would maybe do a shot looking down the counter and play with the DOF. But thats me. Are you a fireman? I was for 16 years when I lived in NJ

Very nicely done. I really like this one

Nice interpretation of the theme but it's just too distracting for me. My eye does not know where to go on this one.

My fried loves Trader Joes as well. I have only been there once. I like the Apple store better. I like how you blew out the background
Been posted before but there's a kitchen in there behind the window.

Love all the graffiti. Makes me want a burrito.

Great food shot. Making me hungry. Need to finish this up and order dinner.

Congrats twitch31!

fireman32, thank you for your comments. I will take your advice and continue trying. And yes, 10 years part-time firefighter (since retired) and close to 15 years part-time EMT (still current, but soon to retire). Full-time lead hand printing pressman (my true passion).

Your welcome. Happy to help a fellow FF/EMT out.
