Weekly Photo Contest | October 13- October 20 reflections

This weeks theme: reflections. Be creative.

As always, standard rules apply:

• The photographs must be your own work. No AI generated images.
• You may only submit one photo per contest.
• No commenting or liking photos until after the judging has taken place.
• This contest runs for about a week, starting now.
• At the end of the competition, the judge (last week’s winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
• The 1st place winner will start a new thread here with the topic/theme of their choice and act as the judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme; after that it defers to 2nd place.)
• Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
• Contest will end October 20, 2025 at 12:00 CEST

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know that the first post has already updated the rules, see above 👆🏻 !

Just a friendly reminder that the rules are the same as always for this contest. We’re not quite at the point where you can start liking photos yet! Here are the results. Standard disclaimer applies. Feel free to ignore my amateur remarks.

@goldmac2006 Birds! I love birds. However I feel that they are the main focus of this shot and not the reflection.

@bunty07 A lovely reflection. Sunset on a lake. Very peaceful. Detail: the horizon is not level. That is distracting.

@kendallm Reflection in a rain puddle. A classic.

@StrollerEd The photographer in a frog perspective. I like how your reflection make the tadpoles visible. Creative use of reflections.

@C0ncreteBl0nde What can I say. A lovely composition and nice use of focus

@OldMacs4Me Leading lines. A crisp reflection. And a lovely scenery. No complaints here.

@someoldguy I am missing a focus point. The scene is a bit messy.

@bushman4 Hehehe. You made me think! A reflecting squirrel. Not the sharpest photo, but a very creative approach!

@Janichsan A post apocalyptic 6 legged elephant. Nice.

@arkitect Another puddle. With a great reflection and symmetry. Very nice. ( I tried to flip the image, but that didn't work.)

@iPhone-Guy A peaceful scene. I like the composition.

@edubfromktown romktow Another peaceful scene. In my opinion it might benefit from a crop of the bottom.

@Apple_Glen_UK A crisp and clean reflection. This one works if you flip and mirror it (keeping the trees to the left).

This view towards Saint Peter's took a bit of setting up and planning — and thankfully the rain departed just at the right time to leave puddles.
A bit later and it would have been too dark… a tad earlier and there was no way I could have set up in the middle of the street like that — so many people streaming out of St Peter's Piazza right then.

But I was lucky and I got a few nice shots — oh, and a pair of soaking wet knees. 🤣

I'll have to get my thinking cap on for a new topic!

tried to do both ducks and the reflection of the pond 😂

Nope...it was taken in my little kitchen studio with my old camera.
