Here we go … just remember that judging is being done by an old guy with bifocals who has no idea of any sort of artistic merit as it applied to photography .

@oblomow – What an interesting bridge ! This might be of those locations that look best at night and in B&W . Nice job capturing the stars on the lights . Were you stopped down to get these or did you use some kind of filter ?

@StrollerEd – The Forth Bridge …. Spent a bit of time trying to figure out where your vantage point was , but failed .
The color and clarity of the image just popped out to me . And it's shot on an iPhone!

@cjsuk – another iPhone photo ! Looks like it was taken on a pretty gloomy day , the B&W conversion only adds a somewhat mysterious feel to the image . Who knows what awaits at the other end !

@kendallm - This almost looks medieval .The arches give the feeling of something designed and built centuries ago . There’s lots going on the underside of the roadway , maybe lightening up the shadows to bring them into visibility ?

@goldmac2006- The Golden Gate .... but where's the gold ? Gotta get there earlier and catch the light . An iconic location for sure . I've stood real close to where you were and took the same shot .

@dwrufus53 - Same bridge , much different view . Trying to figure out where the shot was taken from . The shore with a real long lens , or were you on a boat ?

@C0ncreteBl0nde - Nothing grandiose about this bridge . Just something one would cross on a fall walk in the woods .
Nicely framed , the yellow leaves on both sides make the image pop . Interesting tree (some sort of conifer ) in the background.

@OldMacs4Me - I spent a bit of time looking at the structure of the front bridge ; it almost looks like the arch is some sort of lamination , but its probably not . Interesting comparison between the modern looking structure in the front and the old school truss bridge in the rear .

@Apple_Glen_UK - Nice , clear image . I like how the blue in the sky is matched by the blue in the bridge's structure .

@Janichsan - Japanese style bridges ( along with Japanese landscaping ) have always fascinated me . This one seems to be easily walkable unlike others I've seen . The red on the railings is nicely reflected off the water below . Taken while standing on another bridge ?

@mtbdudex - Kind of a generic suspension bridge , but what sets this apart is the spaghetti bowl or roadways leading onto it . I could imagine being on this for the first time , getting in the wrong lane and ending up totally lost far from where I want to be .

@_timo_redux_ - Another iconic bridge ! You're lucky that you're close enough ( and lucky enough) to get to this location when there are foggy conditions like this . Twice lucky to get the NYPD boat at the same time .

@arkitect - A whole lot going on visually here ... the railings , the reflection , the colors , and the unusual circular underpinnings of the bridge itself . Gotta be Victorian , or maybe a bit before ?

How do you pick winners when you like all the entries ? But I guess I gotta ; so here goes ...

3rd - tie - @Apple_Glen_UK and @StrollerEd

2nd - @C0ncreteBl0nde

1st - @arkitect

Thanks to everyone for entering , and it's your turn @arkitect !

thanks for your comments and judging.
It was stopped down:
EXIF: Canon 6D, 85 mm, F8, 30 sec, ISO400

Wowza! @someoldguy Thank you very much for the win. I am genuinely surprised… the competition was particularly good this week.

My hat is off to all who entered. Congrats to the other podium winners, @Apple_Glen_UK , @StrollerEd and @C0ncreteBl0nde
I must admit though, after I saw @_timo_redux_ 's entry I thought — there is the winner.

Running the next competition:
If you don't mind I will be handing over to @C0ncreteBl0nde to run this competition.
This week is going to be a tad tough for me and I won't be able to give it my full attention.

Just know I hugely appreciate the win and am still astonished. Thank you.

As far as the shot itself?
I wanted to show something abit smaller and also quiet… one of my favourite spots here in Bath.

This is a tiny cast iron arch footbridge, designed by the great John ****** , over the Kennett & Avon canal running through Sydney Gardens here in Bath.
Not located very close to the tourist centre of Bath and most tourists or visitors would never come across it.
It has a delightfully quirky design of graduated circles forming its arch.
It also displays its construction date on a plaque above the arch, reading “Erected Anno 1800”.

Edit: I have NO idea why MacRumours thinks the Engineer John R e n n i e is a swear word!? 🙄

Many congratulations to @arkitect and many thanks to @someoldguy for the judging and his kind words.

As to the vantage point, there's not much mystery: it is a path that was once a former railway track, now used as a bridleway for people and dogs. This a lesser shot, also with an iPhone 12 pro.
