This week's theme is "What lies beyond?".

Whether it's a door, a portal or a horizon, I'm always curious enough to wonder what lies on the other side. Please post photos that draw the viewer to ask what lies beyond. I've posted an interesting door to illustrate but please don't be limited by my lack of imagination - anything that makes you want to explore further is what I'm after. Good luck everyone and I look forward (with significant trepidation) to judging the entries.

Rules:

Be creative and have fun.

You may only submit one photo per contest.

Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.

The contest runs for exactly one week, starting NOW! (see time/date stamp at the start of this thread.)

At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible. (Judge has 24 hours to make decision.)

The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

C. S. Lewis Statue by Our Family Pics, on Flickr

The Wardrobe of C. S. Lewis -- What Lies Beyond?
Stood fittingly outside Holywood Arches Library, this life-size statue is called The Searcher. It depicts the Belfast-born Chronicles of Narnia author as Narnia narrator Digory Kirke stepping into a wardrobe - no doubt in search of his mystical land. Sculptor Ross Wilson unveiled the bronze statue in 1998 - the centenary of Lewis' birth.

These are most definitely real. Head over to my flickr page for more images... Hope you like them. Thank you for your kind words

Sorry for talking in class everyone

Yes, a very lovely vista. I love Gothic arches, (real or imitation).

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to respond to my query; much appreciated.
