Hi - please can anyone with one of the new airs tell me how much the Magsafe 45W power adapter weighs?

Some places say it is identical to the old MBAs, but others (like http://www.ifixit.com teardown) say it is smaller than the old one.

Thanks for the help.

Same

I have the MBA Rev A which I will eventually sell, but right now I'm still installing certain things on the MBA 2010 so they're sititing side-by side.
The power adapters look the same size to me.

It is smaller, not by alot though. I purchased 2 MBP's for my kids this year and I was looking at my son's PB and thinking how much bigger it was. The power cord that attaches to my MBA is about twice as long also.

Did anyone get a chance to weigh their adapter yet?
I just want to know what the combined weight of MBA plus power adapter is going to be when travelling - thanks.

For comparison my Sony Vaio G11 weighed 1.13kg and had a power adapter of 0.17kg and I am trying to see if I might have final found a replacement for this in the MBA 11.6".

Bump - someone must have got a PSU for their MBA by now.
I really want to know what weight I am going to be carrying around when I travel with it. Its all very well boasting a 1.06kg laptop, but if the PSU weighs another 500g then its a different comparison...

I've got both in front of me...same size and feel the same weight.
It appears to me that the AC adapter on the 11 inch MBA is identical to the adapter for the 13 inch model. At any rate, according to the MBAs' technical specs at Apple.com, each is described as a "45W MagSafe power adapter with cable management system." The debate about how much the adapter weighs came up in another thread and, in the interests of science, I weighed mine on an electronic kitchen scale. The adapter plus its AC cord weigh .6 pounds.

dimensions are 2.5x2.5x1.25 inches

160 grammes for the PSU on its own

which makes it

200grammes if you use it with the 40g 'plug that clips directly onto the end of it' adapter

or

310 grammes if you use it with the 150g 'long mains lead and plug' option

I have two MBAs: 2009 Rev C, and 2010 11.7"

The adapters are physically the same size, and the only visible difference is a slightly different barrel end near the magsafe connector.

Both weigh the same, and agree with your measurement. 160g without any type of plug attached. Since the plugs are country specific... I think this is the best way to measure.
