I know that a whole bunch of people have purported to have battery issues on this site, but what happened to me two days ago and today is baffling, to say the least.
Saturday night, at dinner, I checked my phone a few times and saw my battery life at 77%. I had it off the charger for hours, so this was fine. But an hour later, My battery life was somehow at 34% with maybe checking it once. And an hour of usage added on.
Let me ask you...how do I have an hour of usage added on when I'm on standby? Something must be operating in the background. I have the app sportacular with push activated (I should say HAD) and that is when these problems first arose. I had been using the ESPN mobile text alerts, and I got a ton of them daily, probably at least 20. I switch to sportacular, get less notifications, and my battery life gets destroyed.
Am I safe to blame that particular app + push for this issue? This morning I woke up for work at 7, did nothing on my phone whatsoever besides check facebook (2 minutes) and then at about 9:30 I checked it. An hour of usage, 75% battery. WTF?
Has this happened to anyone else? As I mentioned, I've deactivated push and removed the sportacular app from my phone, and have switched back to the previous ESPN alerts. What else could have been causing this? Any and all thoughts appreciated.
If it matters it's a 3G.
