Not sure if anybody else is having this trouble or if this has already been addressed before, couldn't find it via Search.

So basically my problem is this:

My 2015 MBP stops charging whenever I start working with it. Let's say it's 59% charged, I plug the Magsafe in, light goes orange. I do a bit of work and eventually the light goes off and it stops charging. Replugging does nothing, I have to unplug the charger from the wall socket and after plugging it back in, the same thing happens. So I basically have to stop everything I am doing, wait until it's reached 100% and I can continue just fine. Only then it won't stop and continues providing power, light is green throughout. SMC/PRAM reset did nothing.

Any ideas?

I have MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015).

Yeah, something's wrong there. In my experience, the light on the magsafe connector is always on, either orange or green.
Only then it won't stop and continues providing power, light is green throughout.
That sounds normal for a fully-charged battery.

I wonder if there's something wrong with the battery itself -- perhaps it's in worse shape than mine (which says "Service Recommended" but still seems to charge normally). I'm conjecturing that if the battery gets too bad, maybe the charging system starts acting weird. I've never seen the light on my magsafe connector go out while it's plugged in.

I think Apple will still replace batteries on these models. Of course, we don't know for sure -- maybe the problem is with the charger or the computer itself...

I've also only ever seen the orange or green light.

I did once have a constant green light with 20% battery charge when the DC-In board fried itself. Only time there was no light was an obvious mechanical wire break internally, just before the Mag Safe connector. Mind you, that was on the 1st gen MS with the T-style piece.

I'd be first trying another charger if at all possible.

I did replace the charger, no avail however. Some people I’ve been taking to about this suggested that perhaps the wall socket would not provide enough power. I’ll test that at other places asap.

Hi there.
In  > About this Mac > System Report > Power, check the battery condition.

I've had intermittent charging issues with debris in my MagSafe port. Do you have a hot glue gun? You can melt some glue in there and remove any ferrous stuff. Might do nothing but might help!

*edit: in case its not obvious: melt the glue in there, let it cool, rip it out with needle nose pliers*

okay, I've tried a different wall socket and all seems fine. Which is weird, as the one which does not seem to provide enough power seems to work fine with other appliances. At least I know now that its neither the MBP nor the charger at fault here.
