Weird discoloration

Has anybody seen this before? Is the screen just burning out or what's happening here? It's a 3-4 year old iPhone 5.

Yeah, the screen is probably burning out, You might want to replace the whole screen not just the glass..

Damn it. I only use it docked as a music player and with runkeeper while training. So the display doesn't need to look nice, but you think the display will die completely?

i had the same issues with my iphone 5 bought 5 years ago... 3 years ago the screen got that pinkish tint at first... after some more time the "healthy" spaces on the screen started to turn green... so it was a mix of green and pink tints on the screen... but it was working perfectly without any problem more than that discoloration... 2 months ago i swapped the screen and the phone it's still working perfectly, but it lived with the pink screen for 3 years aproximately without problems (i changed the screen because those colors made me mad, im a little OCD hehe)

Hm I wonder if this is a problem with the LCD displays. I've never heard about it until now so I guess it's not a big issue. I have absolutely abused the display on this poor iPhone 5 though, sometimes leaving it on for days in a row just because I forgot it's on while sitting docked in my speaker .____.
So now I've turned on the "sleep after 5 minutes" setting.

Don't worry, it's just because of the age of the screen i suppose...

Very common for LCD displays to develop a pink hue over time. My iPhone 5s developed it in under 18 months. Probably a little pre-mature, but it is common.
