I'm having some recent weird elevation readings on my AWU2. This has only started in the last few weeks. I have 11.1 beta on my watch.

I've been doing the same interval workout nearly weekly for years. In that time, I've used an Apple Watch 2, 7, and now an AWU2. I also have a Garmin Fenix 7 I use occasionally for that workout. The elevation gain has been consistent for years between all 4 devices until recently.
In the last 5 workouts, the AWU2 has only been on target for total elevation gained 2 times. Once it overestimated total elevation gain by around 20%, and the other two times it was under by 10-15%. The workout has slightly over 3000 feet of elevation gain so the differences are noticeable. I've had the AWU2 for a year but this only started recently. I'm in coastal Southern CA and there is next to no tree cover etc. that would affect GPS reception.

Any ideas? I've seen the issue using Workoutdoors and the apple workout app. Maybe an issue because I'm on the beta?

I had the same issue. Started a few weeks ago. Also AWU2. Had bizarre power readings about one hour into runs also.

Did two things: started the compass app before a workout.

Cleaned the watch under water and ran water lock sound to push out potential dirt out of the barometric sensor.

Guess it was the cleaning thing that fixed it.
