Weird issue. Mac won’t respond to restart or shutdown requests via GUI

Hello. My Mac mini m1 won’t respond to restart or shutdown requests from the top menu. I can log out and in though.

I’m trying to install the latest PB of macOS 15. It hangs on restarting. I’m on the latest release (no beta) of Sonoma.

I can reboot in terminal, although it won’t install the os. Nor does trying any of the process in safe mode.

Basically - something’s up. I can’t see anything weird in activity monitor.

Any ideas?

Bump! Anyone else had this? I can't update my Mac! Very frustrating!
