Hey guys I just got my iMac like 4 days ago or so, and this is happening to me only sometimes.

My problem is, when I open iMovie HD, and I click the little thing so that it turns on my iSight (you know the little camera icon, with the drop down list?) and when I click "Built in iSight" or whatever it says, I sometimes get this pretty loud noise, which sounds almost like feedback or something. I'm not sure what it is, but after that noise I go about normally and record video clips. And yea, this only happens sometimes. I don't know what this is.

Anybody?

Try and make your descirption more descriptive. What kind of loud sound? Are you sure it's not noise that the biult-in mic picks up when recording?:)

Well now I've tried to make it to it like 30+ times and it won't do it LOL. But the sound its like, okay you know how when your using a Mac you can sometimes here the hardrive clicking, or whatever it is, take that and make it really loud, and one solid tone, lasting about 1 second.

Is it a screeching sound? If so it could be the microphone. That's what is was for me. I want to believe that's what it was for me....

Haha yeah I want to just think it's the microphone for me too. But not it's not so much a screeching sound as more of a really loud buzzzzz or something. I don't know, I don't really think much of it. If it happens again (after trying many times now it hasn't) I will just call apple and see what's going on.
