I recently bought a used MacBook 11 inch (Early 2015) from eBay and I keep getting the notification "enroll your device in device enrollment program for system manager Kansas City Unif School District 500?" and even when I click skip, it does not skip.

Is there anyway to disable this, can the originally owner (presumably a school district) track me in anyway? Should I be concerned and send this back for a refund? Here's the image for those who are curious.

The notification you're getting is an Apple feature which is used to help deter theft. It could be an oversight on the part of the School District (who can deactivate it) but it's a pretty new laptop for a School District to be selling off. I would contact eBay (not the seller) and tell them you have a item which MAY be stolen - explain the notification you're getting and let them guide you as to what you need to do. I would also notify the credit card company or PayPal and explain that there's a possibility you bought a stolen item.

So.. all's well that ends well.

Bad news: it WAS stolen... but the seller refunded me, i shipped it back today, and the school is getting their laptop back as well. :)
