Well, I posted up my 2010 Macbook Air on Craigslist and have received the occasional lowballs, etc. I just sadly received an email offer of someone wanting to trade their poodle for my Air. They attached pictures as well. At first, I thought this was a joke but I googled their email address and discovered that they were legitimately letting go of their poodles. This is just awkward and sad.

I feel bad for the dog, I mean how unloved it must be, that the owner was willing to trade it for a computer :(

It is quite sad indeed, I've seen postings with people willing to trade their pooch for cell phones and inanimate things. Can't imagine. I would never ever trade my beloved dog for anything in the world! (I tell her that all the time)

Perhaps they're thinking you might take the dog so they can flip the MacBook Air even faster on Craigslist. ;)

It's not that it's unloved, it's their business to sell (and obviously trade) poodles.
And they usually sell them to loving families (there are exceptions...).

Yes, backyard breeding is an industry full of love and affection.

If it's a purebred it might be worth more than your MBA. Think about trading, then trading up again. That is kinda f'd up though.

i think half the people on here would have traded, if the poodle came with backlit keys.

Nebulos; What a great post! I'm still laughing. (The really funny thing is: You are probably right). I know I would trade as long as the backlighting was adjustable on the poodle!

The MBA is much more useful than a dog. He probably wants to trade because the dog ate/pissed on his old Mac. If he trades you the dog for an MBA, problem solved...he has a new Mac and you have the spawn of satan as a new pet. Then you go to meet him somewhere to make the trade. He shows up without a dog and takes your MBA at gunpoint. Craig's list is a creepy place.

It's kind of funny but at least they seem to want to try something before they probably let the dog off at Humane Society where the dog will just eventually be put down.

There's many reason why people want to let go of their pets and not all of them are selfish.
