Hey all, having a weird issue here and it's messing up my workflow, and is just really irritating.

Using Photoshop cs3 on a Penryn MBP, my screen shots won't paste from the clipboard onto the canvas. I take the shot using the shortcut keys, I've tested them pasting into other apps like word or mail, and they paste in fine. Also when I make a new file in PS it defaults to the dimension of the screen shot, as it should, but nothing will paste. Via shortcut or through the menu makes no difference, in fact when I go to edit- paste in the menu, the paste option is grayed out, but there is definitely an image in the clipboard. Other content within PS such as text or layers will paste just fine.

I am forced to save the screen shot to file and then open it in PS, which works fine, but slows down my workflow. I've searched for other people having this bug too, none to be found. I suspect I should maybe re-install cs3, but that is really my last resort. Any other ideas?

What shortcut are you referring to? The only way I know in OSX is to use apple +Shift + 3 or apple +Shift + 4, it will leave a file on your desktop and you can open it in PS.

If you do <command> <control> <shift> <4>, the selected region goes to the clipboard instead.

Yep, I changed mine to <command> <control> <shift> <c> for clipboard and <command> <control> <shift> <f> for file, easier to remember.
