Hello folks,

I have this weird Preview bug. I'll let this video explain it better.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6MKoyX0N3c

Here are some notes:

- I have sent the same photos used on this troubled mac to another mac to test them out, and they worked perfectly on the other mac.

- Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't using the same file. I have no idea why.

- On this same mac, I used to be able to edit photos without any problem before upgrading to Yosemite.

Your insights will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Create a new user account, reboot and login to the new user account. Does the issue still happen?

I have the same thing happening here, since installing Yosemite.
Preview version 7 from Mavericks still works fine.

I thought it may have been because I'm running Yosemite on an unsupported MacPro (1,1 flashed to a 2,1), with an unsupported Nvidia card.

I pulled a copy of Preview ver. 7 from my Mavericks Time Machine backup, and put it in my Utilities folder, then I set all .jpg files to open with version 7.

Not the best solution but it works.

Edit : Oh yeah, almost forgot.
The same thing happens when I edit photos in Pixelmator too.
The only way I can get Pixelmator to work is by editing in 16 bit per channel mode.
Maybe that has something to do with it .

Hopefully this helps.

- Jay
