I recently installed an Apple ATI Radeon 5770 in my Mac Pro 3,1 (early 2008) and for a few days, it worked great. Now, when i press the power button, it just clicks, then a few seconds later, clicks again. I unplug it a few times, let it sit for a bit, try it later, it boots up fine. Is this a power supply issue? I have re-seated the videocard and tried a different slot and it still does it. So i've just been keeping it turned on for days, out of fear of it not turning back on!
It runs fine all day.
Starts up in the morning and runs.
If I ever power down, the power button gives me a click with no white led.
Then a second click and nothing.
I have to wait a few hours and then it reboots as normal.
Any insight?
Thanks

It does sound like a PSU issue...I'm not well up on the power consumption on graphics cards these day's...Others here will know. If it is PSU related you would probably be better off not stressing the unit too much for now...ie: leave it running and just let it sleep when not in use until you find a better long term solution.
