Well after a really hellish start, MobileMe was finally working well for me for about a week. I was pretty happy with it!

However, two days ago I started getting the following MobileMe Sync Alert on my main desktop computer only:

alert.jpg

I'm not sure why I would suddenly get this alert out of the blue, because I haven't done anything different. No sync info was reset, and all settings are the same as they've been since the start of MobileMe.

No matter what I click (Cancel or Sync), and no matter what action I select (merge all data, replace on computer, replace on MobileMe), the alert keeps popping back up every 10-15 minutes or so. I can't get it to go away!! (Well I can, if I go into MobileMe preferences and change sync from "automatic" to "manual" or something -- but I'd rather have MobileMe on and working all the time).

Anyone know why this alert keeps popping up, or what I can do to make it go away for good? It's kind of driving me crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your using multiple computers you may want to check the settings on each computer. You could have one set to "replace all data" and another to "merge all data."

Make sure your settings are correct.

I guess no one has seen it, including me. I was just wondering if it has anything to do with the "Warn when > 5% of the data on the computer changes ..... ".

Over the past couple of weeks there have been a number of posts where people have LOST all of their contacts and/or calendar. My guess is that the Sync Program is saying you are about to have massive changes to your Sync Data. To me, unless you are making massive changes something is wrong. If MobileMe Cloud (the master file) is correct I would do an Advanced Replace on my PC with Data from MobileMe (or whatever the wording is).

For me I have been running in Manual Mode (I don't change my calendar and contacts that often) since there have been so many problems. Since I have not had any problems I just changed this morning to "Every Day". If I don't have any problems for say 1 week or so I will switch to "Ever Hour. If no problems there I will then switch to "Automatically" (every 15 min I think). Also, I will watch the forum to see if others are running without problems. Your Post does not give me a lot of confidence. Good Luck.

I think I might do the same, or stick with Manual for a while. I don't want to mess around with it too much, in case something bad happens. I DID check all my computers, and everything was set up the same. Only my main desktop at home was getting this alert, but not my laptop, work computer, or phone.

I've been a .Mac user for a while, and I was ok with the way the service was previously. Maybe a little expensive for what it was, but I always renewed every year. The MobileMe functions -- while a cool bonus to suddenly have -- have not been worth all the nightmares and uncertainty that's come with it. I'm absolutely terrified of suddenly losing all my contacts/mail one day from everywhere, including "the cloud" (the very idea that your most important info is on "a cloud" does not exactly inspire confidence -- probably not the best term Apple could have used). Gonna just stick with a pre-MM setup for now, until I feel more confident about it all.

Sync Alert Solution

I am having this same problem!! I have 2 iphones and 1 mbp.... What could be happening? I select replace everything on this computer and it pops up again!

I had the same recurring popup 'further attention' alert. Called the guys at Apple and they had me log out of mobileme and log back in.

Problem solved.

I'm having the same problem. I have a mac at work and my macbook pro. I just switched the work mac to manual sync to see if that fixed the problem.

It's been driving me crazy though!
