While out at an event last Friday, my iPhone SE's battery charge level suddenly started to plummet. It wasn't particularly cold, but I was heavily using the camera, and didn't think much of it until it unexpectedly shut down with the "plug in to power" icon. It wouldn't turn on again, so I just put it in my pocket until I got home.

What's weird is my girlfriend's iPhone SE did exactly the same thing within an hour.

I plugged in as soon as I arrived home, and the battery showed 44% state of charge. She plugged in hers, and it was over 30%. WTF?

Here are the battery stats:

You can see the battery drops suddenly, goes into the red, then appears dead when the phone shut down. Then suddenly back up to over 40% when it's turned back on.

Anybody else experience a weird and unexpected shutdown like this?

Could it maybe have been due to iOS 12.0.1 being pushed out?
