I'm not posting this because I think there might be a solution. I'm posting this because when someone else thinks they are insane, they will know that its not all in their head. (This is going to sound weird, but I have very accurately confirmed this is the case, and my wife conducted the same study with the same results.)
MacBook Core Duo with 2GHz Ram running 10.4.10 - ALL software up to date.
When browsing over our wi-fi network, I will open a browser window and enter an address. The page will attempt to load indefinitely. If the destination page has any type of cache, some portions will load from cache, but the full site will never load.
UNLESS - I go up to my handy little wifi icon in the menu bar and just click the wifi icon to drop down the menu. THAT'S IT. I don't have to refresh the network or select a new network - simply clicking the wifi icon - and IMMEDIATELY all the pages will load.
Same results in both Firefox and Safari.
For the longest time, I just thought we were having problems with our router (a linksys) - and then I kept noticing that as I started towards the wifi, all my pages would load. It is the weirdest thing - and I don't understand why selecting a menu would make any difference, but it does.
Anyone know why this is happening or know a way to fix it?
