Hi everybody
sorry it might be a silly problem, but the esclamation point on my pb 12" isn't working anymore. It does work the number one, so I guess luckely isn't a matter related to the keyboard hardware, still it's driving me crazy...cheked all softwares installed, thinking that maybe I reserved that key for a certain operation, but I didn't solve anything...
Does anybody feels like giving me an help ?
Thanks a lot
Giovanni

Go to System Preferences and under the Keyboard & Mouse settings select the Keyboard Shortcuts tab. This is where most of your custom configurations for your system are. Go through them if you can be bothered trying to find if there's a discrepancy somewhere. Otherwise simply select Restore Defaults - it'll be quicker. Hopefully this works. :)

This won't work if you have assigned the key a function through a third party app though. :(

did tried but..

thanks for answering
well, I did tried but its still not working
I guess it may depend from an application, so I checked em in their preferences, but didnt find any option bout keys...
Is any other way to check very deeply in the system that specific key and its options and connections ?
thanks again

Well, I'm guessing it's not a problem with a SHIFT key. So quit all apps, in fact maybe restart just for fun. As soon as the Finder is up, open TextEdit and try to write !. This has two effects; it closes most of your third party apps for you and it logs out which can sometimes be necessary for changes to take effect.

If that doesn't work, open a new account and see if the problem is there too.

Do you have any theme changing apps/start up apps that affect the system? :)

Well, thats whay I did : cancelling all the startup selected appls in the account and boot pressing the keys for resetting the pram, and it did worked.

Thanks again

Good to hear it worked. I guess it would have been the PRAM reset that really fixed it. :)

Here's something to keep you warm too. :)
