My wife started classes and needed a lot of battery life. Gave her my M2 MacBook Air and picked up a dell refurbished Latitude 7390 with an 8th generation Quad-Core i5 w/ 16 GBs of RAM...

I was very surprised that this thing can pretty much do what I need it to do! Web browse, youtube, little classic gaming, and it's very light (2.6 pounds), has FaceID login, and a matte touchscreen! Got it for $175 in Grade A Condition.

Purchased an OEM Dell battery for it for $70 as the battery is at about 60% health, but so far I really like this little thing.

We don't need the latest and greatest! Stop feeding the landfills!

It sounds like it does what you need to do. For most people that just browse the web a Chromebook would be more than enough.

This being said, I don’t think I would want to go back to a Windows laptop after using my M2 Air. Even without battery life into consideration, just the overall quality of the screen and macOS is a big difference. Of course this is me being spoiled. It’s like if you drive a nice car to work versus a beater car. Both will get you to work just fine, but one is nicer and more comfortable.

I do agree. From a comfortability standpoint, the MacBook Air is superior. Especially the screen. But this will do for now.
