I read an old web page saying that Apple was still signing 8.4 so I downloaded the ipsw, hoping to restore and jailbreak using the latest jailbreak for 8.4.

Obviously, I got an error because Apple is no longer signing 8.4. Now the iPad (mini 3) is in recovery mode. It went into error/recovery about 1 second after choosing the ipsw to restore from; I can't imagine it erased the iPad in such a short time.

Is there a way to get out of recovery mode and back to where I started before trying to upgrade? Or is there a way to restore from iCloud while in recovery mode?

Any ideas?

I have a feeling it's a no-win situation. I guess I'll just return the iPad (I just bought it yesterday), and buy another one with the older out-of-the box firmware, and just jailbreak that.
