Welp, my local Apple Store has them in stock and is selling them today.

Not only was I rejected, but the moron didn't even know what I was talking about. He had to go ask someone, who told him they weren't available until tomorrow. *sigh*
You should keep asking around. I'm sure one of the reps will be the one you talked to on the phone.
Did he say which models they have? Any chance they have the i7-equipped "ultimates"?
It was packed so I just left. Not worth my trouble.. I should have known it was bogus since someone else here tried to buy one earlier and the SKU wasn't active yet. Oh well, tomorrow it is :-/
sorry, i didn't get a chance to ask.. it was hectic there and packed with tourists as usual, and my coworker and i had to run back to work
The one at Millenia Mall in Orlando is always, ALWAYS packed to the gills with tourists.
Today was no exception, and I just didn't feel like dealing with it. It just amazes me that stores don't brief their employees on this stuff more thoroughy, especially the "greeter" dude that sets appointments at the front.

This is right, they sold some in the first hour or so this morning before suspending them so was lucky to snag one myself before they stopped the sales.
I gave both mall at millenia and fl mall a call
Fl mall has them in stock but 1 employee claims no i7 other says they do have them ( I called) now they both said they will start selling tomorrow morning
Millennia have no idea when there gonna get them ..
Fl mall will be faster at checkout since it's a bigger store more reps...
I would definitely call to see if you can snag an MBA today if you're impatient like me

I talked to a very nice associate at a local store in Tennessee. She said that they had "them" in stock. I asked her to confirm the specs to make sure we were on the same page and she read off the 13"/256GB/i7 specs from the shipping sticker on the box. She said she could see at least a dozen in that configuration without even moving any boxes out of the way. Of course she can't hold them and I can't get there until after 5 tomorrow unfortunately. However, it did sound like they were available unless she was just having fun with my emotions.
