I have a pair of 1TB HDDs I use as a redundant storage array in my Mid 2010 Mac Pro (With a 512GB SSD as a boot drive). I want to upgrade to 2 or 3TB HDDs and have been shopping the Western Digital range.
Until recently WD Black and Blue were both 7200RPM drives, but now Newegg and Amazon are showing only Black drives in 7200RPM. The Blue drives are 5400rpm, like the old WD Green drives.
I don't think 5400rpm is a good option for daily use drives. Am I stuck with WD black drives?
