I have tried to get an answer from Apple, but did not provide me with one that solves the issue.

I have several domain names with corresponding pop boxes that represent the names of me and my business. Eg "info@myname.com" and "info@mybusinessname.com". My friends and customers know me by these e-mail addresses and they link to the websites I have.
I did not buy them for nothing; I want to keep using them.

Now Apple introduces iCloud. And all of a sudden I have to use a @me.com e-mail address to be able to enjoy the benefits of iCloud?!
Sure, I can forward all my e-mail to the @me.com account iCloud works with thus being able to sync the messages with my iPhone, iPad, iMac and PC. But if I reply a message from iCloud to a friend or a customer the sender address is the @me.com address. And that confuses the people I know and do business with. Again: I did not buy these domains for nothing.

Question 1:
Or am I wrong? Is there a way to keep the sender address a non @me.com address so that the people I send e-mails to do not see the @me.com address?

Question 2:
Can I make folders in iCloud dedicated to the different pop boxes I have forwarded the mail from? Or do I have to open a new @me.com address or iCloud account for each non @me.com popbox I want to keep using?

Thank you in advance if you have the answer. Unfortunately Apple only sends links to instruction pages about iCloud that do not answer these questions.

1. When you reply, or send an email in general, you can set the reply-to header. Not that you can not do this from http://www.icloud.com , but you can when using Mail.app on both OS X and iOS.

2. You can make rules that sorts your email, but the options possible in http://www.icloud.com is very limited, and I don't know if they are advanced enough. I guess it dependes on how you are able to set up forwarding from your other accounts.

I have just run into the same issue. I want to use the me.com account so that I can have some other mail available on my phone.

I think this is a real weakness in iCloud mail right now.

My business email is hosted with GoDaddy. They support IMAP Mail. I have it defined to all of my clients (iOS and Mac Mail etc.). I also have iCloud for all the benefits of iCloud. Like maintaining my Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks and Find my Phone, etc. I also forward some of my email to my me.com account because it simply gets to my mail clients FASTER with PUSH. And in the beginning I was not sure if I wanted all of my email on my phone (I have a lot of history). But, I now have pretty much access to all of my business mail on my phone as well (via GoDaddy IMAP). Also, since both accounts are on my iPhone, iPad and Mac Mail I can send email from either of them. I use the me.com account more for personal stuff. Anyway, you have to determine what works best for you. But to be clear iCloud is not just email.

I've filed a RADAR bug report about this some weeks ago. So far (after one question back to clarify) no response / new status...

At least it took some years with MobileMe / .mac to get this feature, so please file your own bug report at Apple if you want to use other mail addresses than ...@me.com in iCloud, showing some demand.
