Hello,

I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong so decided to post this to see if the community had any experience with it or knows how to resolve it.

A couple months ago I got an email with a form attached for me to complete and sign. I completed it and signed it entirely on my iPad Pro > hit Done > hit Reply, then saw that the form was only partially completed/not signed. Take 2 & 3, and the same occurred. Take 4, I completed the form, signed it, saved it to iCloud Files, but it saves there partially completed as well. The only way around it was to print the form, physically complete and sign it, then scan it and send to the recipient.

Today, I experienced the same issue. Got an email with a form to complete to return and encountered the same scenario as above. I had to print the form, physically complete/sign it, scan it, then email it.

Anyone know what I’m doing wrong here or what the issue might be?

No idea of the issue. Is this a PEF form? Did you try to save the form to files then fill it in from Files? What app is actually opening the file from the email?

I believe they were PDF forms but I’ll double check and post.

I don’t remember filing the form out in Files once it was saved there but I can try that to see if it’ll help.

No app is opening the form from the email. I just click on the form in the email and it opens in Mail.

Did you create a digital signature to use on your device?

Add your signature
  1. In the Markup toolbar in a supported app, tap. , then choose Signature. Note: If you don't see the Markup toolbar, tap. or Markup. ...
  2. Do one of the following: Add a new signature: Tap Add or Remove Signature, tap. , then use your finger to sign your name. ...
  3. Drag your signature where you want it.

I have created a digital signature but the issue is actually with filling out the form(s) and having them saved so that I can return it (completed) to the sender.

This is one of the tasks that I just switch to the PC. PDF forms can be hit or miss on iOS.
Thanks. That’s what I’m realizing as I thought I could just do it all on the iPad Pro which clearly isn’t the case.

I would save it to files, or just open it in Acrobat and fill it out. Save it, and then attach it to email to send back. I use my iPad exclusively for creating, filling, and working with pdfs.
I did save it to Files after completing the forms but realize they were partially completed.

Someone else above suggested completing the forms in Adobe I believe so I may have to do that or as you suggested in Acrobat (forgive me if they’re the same).

Try and use a dedicated PDF app such PDF expert. I use this and I have no issues with is, one of many programs that have this feature.

With PDF Expert, you can sign a PDF document or a form by placing your personal signature in the appropriate place in a document or in a signature field

I will vouch for PDF Expert. It's one of my favorite and most used apps for work.
