Finally - got some time away from the office over the holidays and found the space to sit down and really get creative on my new iMac. It was the 4th after 3 returns and finally accepted at the end October.

I've didn't rush (partly due to the disappointment of the returns - gradients and freezes) and took my time setting up. Got the hubs etc I asked for at Xmas and finally had everything in place..........

.............OMG this thing absolutely screams - one minute I'm starting to sort out family photos, next thing I know, I've got pretty much the whole iLife suite open (not garageband) - sorting out photo's, importing CD's, converting video clips for my :apple:touch and :apple:TV, email open, safari open and all whilst importing DV clips of our summer holiday.

Thing is, I never noticed the iMac slow down for a second, even when screen sharing with my wife's macbook.

After all the issues I've read about and (posted here), I'm just absolutely thrilled with this new machine and enjoying it more and more each day !!!!!:p

Oh baby!

Yeah I've been pretty impressed and happy to say the least, with my new iMac purchase. I came home an hour ago. Made some dinner and then installed 4gigs of new RAM that arrived today. Screaming is a good way to put it. I have XP running on Parallels 3.0 with 512 dedicated to it, Firefox with numerous sessions open, Entourage accepting email delivery and iPhoto searching my old PC drive for pics. I may want to cry if I get some of the probelms I have read about here, but right now...I'm having a Moretti:)

Geez, I wish I could afford your setup. I had to settle on the 20" iMac

But are you enjoying it ?

Have been busy ebaying everything from my old eMac, old games and films to old sets of crockery for a quite a while and managed to negotiate a huge discount on the Touch due to the number of iMac returns and all of the hassle involved.

Best eBay result I had was £120 on an old iSight camera.

Bet you just love those phones though!
