There is/was an App, that when you launch it it will tell you the amount of ram the the CPU speed. I downloaded it before, but don't have it anymore. I must have deleted it. It was a free app and did not free memory or anything, it only told you the specs of the iPhone/iPod touch.
Any one know what I'm talking about? Its from the App Store.

I found the App. its called Checkup. Its free and in the App Store.
See the screen shots.
I searched my purchased history in iTunes and found it. :D
The link is this. http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=301417772&mt=8
Please download and install it. I want to see proof from this App that the touch 3G and iPhone 3GS are running at 600MHZ

I don't get this, you wanted the App, you found it, why are you telling others to download and install the App? Are you the developer of this App?

Edit: Come on...is this a clever marketing ploy...we won't tell :)

I know, but I want to download it on a floor model iPod touch 3G and prove to myself that it has a 600mhz cpu and 256MB of ram.

You trust a third party most likely independent developer (no offense at all, considering I know you can't really mess that up with the SDK) over something say looking at iFixit's teardown guide? :p

Well, it was almost a day between posts...so it's ttly legit...xD

No! I didn't make this App. I just want proof that yhe 3GS has that 600MHZ CPU. I got my proof, so I'm good to go. I just want proof on the 3rd generation iPod touch. I wish I made this App, because I could charge $0.99 for it, but I didn't!

I trust iFixit. I use them all the time. They tell us the model of the CPU and it tells us its speed, but I don't know if it says what Apple has it under clocked to. I just like it to be confirmed to ways.
And I did not make this App. I just wanted 2 people, one with an iPhone 3GS and the other with an iPod touch 3rd generation to download this and post the screen shots of the CPU speed. One person with a 3GS did and I thank them for it. I just want someone with a 3G touch to do it too.

Day between post means nada. I have seen gaps in the app forum on a developer post.

I posted the 3gs screenshot. The app was FREE
