Eh, if you have a leopard based mac and wanna geotag, u can try out PlaceTagger (in sig, yes I'm biased). For games I gotta suggest Flight Control and Doodle Jump.

RE: Degeneration
Zenonia
Tiger Woods
Myst

Those are the only "gotta have it" games that I have on my iPhone. I also have Metal Gear Touch, Asphalt, and Silent Hill but I wouldn't buy those again.

i just bought placetagger :) i love it! i am also thinking on buying billminder because i always forget that my cell phone bill is comming lol so i blow my money on other stuff :) but my question is does it actually remind you about the bill? as in will it alarm me 1 day before etc. or do i have to open up billminder app ?

+1 for PlaceTagger. Works when you are out of your normal service area and have data roaming off too. I'll be using it in a couple of weeks while I'm overseas. It works great!

BillMinder currently alerts you when you open the application. This is simply because iPhone allows only one application to be open at a time. It does update the badge icon when you open it as well, though. :) We hope to address this in the future, but it's dependent on what it will cost us to support it in terms of servers, etc.. Really, though, it's a great app and it is on sale for a buck off. :D Thanks for the kind words. It's really gratifying! :)

Pocket Informant - manage events be tasks, and syncs to free online services... the best PIM so far.

Readdledocs - download documents from the Internet, or forward email attachments to Readdle and then download the document from them.

Uniwar - online strategy war game

Galcon (the online version) - also awesome

Another recommendation for Zenonia

Oxford Deluxe - expensive, but the best dictionary/thesauras app out there

Assasin's Creed

Wurdle

Beejive IM

Groups

Photogene and Camerakit

apps

these are the apps i use regularly:

Tweetie - there is no contender, this is THE twitter app. it's made SO well.
Wikipanion - this is a slick wiki app.
Notebooks - i use this for notes, has password protect and all sorts of features.
Air Sharing - makes the iphone into a portable hard-drive.
Dictionary - a full concise english dictionary
Offmaps - like google maps but you can save the maps to your iphone to view with no signal or in a foreign country.
Shazam - identify any music. really, really good at it.
Tumblr - post to tumblr.
Fourtrack - I am a musician and this is fantastic for recording demos. has multitrack abilities. no latency issues either.
Brushes - best drawing app, hands down.
Geodefense - great game, addictive.
Touchgrind - another great game.
Eliss - another great game.
Flight Control - yet another great game.
Zen Bound - i should move on from games, hah.
Tubestatus - if you live in london, this is valuable.
Nightstand - I use this when my iphone is docked on my desk, quick glance clock.
Pandorabox - tells you if any apps have gone on promotion, really useful.

I have tons of other apps, especially music ones but they arent worth mentioning for specific buys.

Peggle from PopCap is an addicting game I am playing right now. Kinda pricey, but it is one of the few games I saw with 5 stars. Great graphics.

Stoneloops is another good game I bought recently.

Other apps I like:
IHeart Radio (like local am stations I can get on there)
Pandora Radio/Last FM
Yelp/Urban Spoon
Now Playing
Cardstar
1password
Simpilfy 2

Just set up reminders in your calendar...you can have it alert you 2 days before, 1 day before or on the date of event (you can set 2 alerts if you're a procrastinator, and you can even tell it what time of day to alert you.) :D

You can't tell I use this feature?...nah. :D (okay, maybe just a little)

best part...it's FREE...and you don't have to download something.

-Free Apps
Facebook obviously
iTalk(the free version) Made by Griffin, it's a useful voice recorder until the 3.0 software comes out
Pandora Radio Internet radio streaming app, LOVE it! I only wish you could run it in the background without having to jailbreak
Mint App for checking your Mint.com account
Remote (made by Apple) useful for controlling iTunes
Flashlight Simply turns your screen all-white for when you need a flashlight
myWireless If you're on AT&T, it's helpful for checking your account, see how many minutes you've used and data usage, as well as when your next bill is due, but I don't think it will remind you on its own.
What's On Just as simple TV listings app (like checking the TV Guide website), but the interface is sooo nice and I like that you can set up a Favorites list. Definitely my favorite free app :)
Wallet Password management that syncs with the desktop version
iStat Great for monitoring your iPhone and Mac (like the desktop widget)

-Paid Apps
Things Useful to-do app, especially if you have the desktop version. A little pricey though, so it's really only for people who would use it a lot
Beejive Definitely the best IM client out there, although it too is pricey. It'll be nice when push notifications are around for this one
iTranslate Plus Great if you're a language student, as it's basically the same exact thing as the Mac translation widget
Bejeweled 2 Sooo addictive!
Koi Pond Just really pretty and fun :)
