I'm sure there are a lot of developers that browse this forum... let's get them to work on the apps that we want to see in the App Store that aren't there already!

The only app I'd really like would be one like Intelliscreen, which posts some data (upcoming calendar events, new emails, the weather) on the unlock screen.

My understanding is the Intelliscreen itself won't be available in the app store, because it somehow violates Apple's use policy or something.

But a program like this is the only thing that would make my iPhone better than it is. Seriously, this is a pretty basic business function that I would have thought Apple might have included anyway.

I wonder if there's some developer who can work within Apple's constraints to come up with an easy way to do this.

Week view

Can someone develop a week view calendar since iphone has such a large screen to lay out? Datebk for Palm has been very successful in this for a decade or so. A Week view or even bi-weekly view would give a much more comprehensive layout of events for the entire week.
Or is there one out already??

:)

I've got two, although I'm sure I'm in the minority of needing these...

1) An app which will easily let you enable/disable email accounts on the iPhone.

Right now I have 5 email accounts set up on my phone, 2 of them are my "main" ones, the other 3 I just use occasionally (usually during the day when I can't check mail at work and I'm expecting something) - when I have to use them I go to the springboard page with 'Settings, then Mail, then individually open each mail account, choose on/off, then go back and do it for the other accounts. I think it would be great if someone created an app which would list all of the mail accounts one one screen and let you do a mass enable/disable.

2) Another nice app would be to allow you to set your sounds based on the time of day. For example 7:00AM-11:00PM Monday-Friday I want Vibrate to be on, but when I go to sleep I want vibrate to be off completely. (I keep the iPhone on my nightstand and if I get an email at 3AM I don't need the vibration going off). Right now what I do is go into Settings> Sounds > Vibrate and toggle it each night (when I remember) and then I have to un-do it in the morning.

Again, I don't know if these really have mass appeal, but if theres a developer looking to come up with something new I'd definitely use them!

I'd like to see an app that when someone send me a picture I can see it on my phone or at least click on the link, and a 3rd party app launches safari and automatically logs me in versus having to log in to viewmymessage every time with some crazy log in name and password. Is this do able?

I would like to see more apps (games, productity apps, business apps, etc.) that incorporate more use of the phones 3G or wifi functions.
But I don't see that happening until 4G becomes more widely used next year. That is, unless the retardedly primitive telecom companies price 4G out of the reach of most users.

MS Office. I would love to be able to edit Word docs and Excel spreadsheets on the iPhone.

I'm also still hoping for iWork...or at least a Keynote viewer so I can use our work presentations on the phone.

Oh, and I also could really use the ability to view flash movies.

Doesn't the phone already support displaying Keynote files?

So I've heard. I think the only way is if you email it to yourself (because you can view email attachments). But if you have a 20+MB keynote presentation to show, that's not a very good alternative.

I'd like to see a true backup app. From what I understand, the backup that runs when you sync your iphone with itunes does not backup your email. I'd like to see an app similar to Sprite backup that backs up your entire phone. If you need to hard reset (restore) your phone, this makes it much easier to get all of your data and settings back on the phone.

An app to sync all my google calendars with the iPhone's Calendar app. (Sorry, PC user here and I don't use that POS called Outlook).

A way to put backgrounds on the various app pages.

A way to force the Mail app to always start at the list of email accounts, rather than inside an account that has unread emails.

A week and Agenda view for Calendar (or a Calendar app that has that).
