My brother has an ibook with a 10gb HD, and only had about 500mb free. He would like to know if he can delete the 200mb+ folder titled "Developer Tools." I dont even know what those are. Theyre located in Finder - Applications - Installers - Developer Tools.

I could also use the free disk space myself, is there any reason to keep them? I dont know what they are, i've never used them, dont know applescript, whatnot....basically:

Are they important to keep?

They're exactly what they look like. If you're never going to do any programming or any reading on how the OS works, you don't need them. Basically it contains some compilers as well as large amounts of developer documentation and a few utilities.

yeah, those installers are just a waste of space... i don't know why they're even put on your computer. you can always re-install the Developer Tools form the software restore disks if you want them anyway..
