I am going on a road trip in a few days and I want to bring my macbook but I will not have internet access. What are some apps that could occupy me when I do not have internet access?

you have to check out a game called 'and yet it moves' one of the most innovative and fun games i have ever played.

P.s. Sorry no link, posting from my N95.

Edit: also check out 'i can animate' you could make a stop motion movie.

Defcon - there's nothing like a bit of global destruction to while away the time. It really comes into its own when you're playing online, but still good fun playing against the computer.

calculator! calculate how much time you've wasted playing with the apps mentioned prior to my post

(a little humor based off of the PC vs Mac commercial)

How the hell has MacSaber been omitted from this list?! I was playing with it on my friends' MacBook and my God is it fun. Okay, there probably won't be much room to swing a MacBook around in light saber-ish manner on a road trip but you can have fun at lunch breaks. :D

Does anyone have a link to this mac saber program? I can see myself entertained for hours on end with this.

ive gone through the website of the game, the trailer and some screens. I'm convinced. Now how does that shareware work? can you still play single player without paying or you have a limited time access (say 30 days) or its the type of shareware that block some options such as online gaming...
Does someone have the game so he can tell me to either [free download/buy/get over it]? thanks

There's always the old time-waster, Glider.

Ah.. I remember playing an old version of that on the SEs back in high school, when I should have been doing homework...

you can always buy a mac computer game. I reccomend going to any apple store and buying halo the game its a fun time killer.:)

...and I can buy the Windows version of Halo and Halo 2 for under $60, or I could get Halo 3 for under $60.

Well worth booting up into Windows for.

I never understood the point of buying all these ported games, particularly when you already have an Intel Mac (like the person who originally asked this question) - cheaper and easier to find.

Great thread.. Keep this going!
Ok then, let me comment on DEFCON!
Althought my computer temp was rising up to 79C, that game is great.
Easy to learn, addictive, cheap too... it has everything.
But like i said, temp is an issue and battery consumption too (i was plugged-in so i didn't notice but i figured..)

Theres always the iSight games, those are really fun. I don't remember where you could get them. It's like the eyetoy games for the playstation 2.
