I'm thinking we could see an update on January 15th. Mabey after 10:00am. I don't know. This is just pure specultion.;)

High, it's due.

It's going to be a quiet update either few days before or few days after Macworld.

From what I've read around the net so far, the chances of a new MacBook Pro are quite high. I'm looking to buy a MacBook or MacBook Pro but I'm certainly waiting til after the 15th so once I've watched the Keynote, I'll know what's coming.

Would be nice to have a MacBook with a semi decent dedicated graphics to work properly with Final Cut Pro

Which is a macbook pro...I Highly doubt Apple will be putting dedicated graphics cards in their macbook's anytime soon. Now an Ultraportable. That is a big possibility.

I have a bet with a coworker that the only update to the MacBook Pro, if even announce at Mac World 08, would be new models use Intel's mobile Penryn chip (maxed at 2.6 Ghz), and have LED back lighting. In any event, my gut feel is that nothing major should be expected much beyond the silent update to MPB's that happened back in November 2007. If wrong -- then I'm out a cup of coffee.

I'm confident there'll be an update to the MacBook Pro, but I reckon it'll be the one product announced that won't be available immediately - typical!

I reckon updates will be announced ready to order that day for shipping in February.

Can't wait for the surprise! Although I won't be buying any new Macs. :p Well, maybe an iMac when the 2nd rev comes out.
