So i'm thinking on buying an iPod nano 7G for gym purposes. I have an iPod shuffle and while its amazing for the gym, sometimes i find myself wanting a bit more entertainment while resting between sets so i need a bit more than 2GB of media.

So basically i'm asking, what are the chances of those rumors being true? an iPod nano 7G that plays video and records it with the camera. Takes photos, Bluetooth, ect. Even if its a crappy camera, having a tiny camera like that seems appealing to me.

Should i wait? Or should i buy the current gen one now? Thanks.

If a camera is important to you, then waiting to see might be the best option. I personally can't see it since the majority of people who bought the new Nano were using it for the gym and utilized the clip part. A camera would have to be in place of that clip (I assume). The screen is small, I would get frustrated trying to watch video on it. You might want to look into a used Nano 5th generation - it has a more reasonable screen and a camera.

Now as for bluetooth capability, don't count on it.

NO WAY !!

Nano Touch is for runners, bikers and Gym folks.

I am aware of that. No need to get agitated. That is precisely the reason why i want one. But if the nano 7G would have included some extra features, i would not mind waiting it out.

So basically there is a pretty big chance the 7G version would be a slight memory upgrade, assuming they keep the same form factor? Hmmm... September is right around the corner. If all it gets is a memory upgrade then i might pick up a 5G/6G on the cheap instead. Thanks.

I think they'll keep the same form, or trash it altogether. Apple doesn't want anything to compete with the Touch. God forbid.

If they trash anything it will be the shuffle. Apple makes too much $$$ on the Nano Touch devices - they won't dump it.

Also they need a presence in the gyms, in the running clubs and among bikers. iPod Touch is too bulky for real 'sweaty activity' (no pun intended) hence I believe the NanoTouch will stay and keep the same form factor and get a memory upgrade - nothing more IMHO :)

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3GS: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_4 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8K2 Safari/6533.18.5)

I guess you're right. I wouldn't pay $149 for one though.

And yeah, the shuffle is pretty much useless, since you can get mp3 players with a screen and more memory for $49 or cheaper.

I really don't think they're gonna put a camera bach in the nano... but who knows for sure???

If I were you I'd wait... it's only 2 months away from the release of the next nano.

I don't know if it's in Job's perfection to include a camera mechanism in such a tiny body. I'm thinking if there is a camera, it might affect battery life.

Yeah, you're right. Those camera rumors could be some chinese knock-offs or something. Or fake. Cant imagine it having a decent camera on such a tiny device either way. I think they'll either redo the design or just give it a bump in memory as you all said.

Also, i've been eyeing those nano 5Gs on ebay and i gotta say, its mighty tempting even though i cant use it for the gym. They look so pretty. :p
