So I'm still at "Available to ship: January" with only 10 days left in the month. I'm wondering if Apple is going to drop the ball on this one. How many others are waiting too?

Shipping estimates are just that estimates, so its possible ship times can slip but Apple has surprised me more often then disappointment with their estimates.

Well, I was a little late to the party, receiving order confirmation 12:37 CET (3:37 PST) on 19 Dec/13, so am resigned to shipping at month's end. Didn't trust credit card companies to accept the charge, so paid with debit card already...

I ordered a custom build (8 core, 512gb SSD, D700) in the first hour of availability, also have a "available to ship: January" status. Monday this week, funds were reserved on my card, so I thought payment was finally being taken and things would soon flick over to preparing for shipment. But it's now Thursday here in Australia and still nothing has changed. Hoping to see some kind of action this week.

I ordered 6:00 AM eastern time on the first day of availability with January estimated shipping. BTO with the one terabyte drive, D500 and 6 core. It arrived last Friday.

BTW as I type this I'm transcoding 1080p video in Handbrake. (WMV to h.264 MP4). Damn thing is SILENT. Earlier today I was transcoding 3 of them simultaneously (two in a Windows virtual machine). Still silent.

Well surprise, my order turned to "Preparing for Shipment" last night.

Since it happened overnight, and presumably the production line isn't running 24/7 (or maybe it is) I wonder if this is just a trigger that the order is about to enter production.

Mine shipped yesterday. When I went to UPS to track it today there was a weather delay notice. I think I'll get in next week, but maybe a day late. I ordered it at 4:15 AM EST on the 19th - 6-core, 32 GB, 512 SSD, D700.

I'm still in the "processing" zone.. Ordered BTO Jan 6th, still says February.

Ordered mine at around 4:30am PST on Dec. 19. Apple put temporary authorization for the Apple Care Protection Plan ($249) on my CC on Jan. 14, however that has now disappeared and there has been no further movement.

Placed my order on 19 December with a business rep over the phone. Was told January. Been tracking the order ever since - still says January. My debit card had an authorisation hold placed on it on Tuesday this week for the full cost of the machine but despite my excitement at what looked like progress that hold dropped off my card yesterday and I'm right back to where I was on 19 December.

37 days and counting. :(

If you haven't seen it already, Mac Rumors user Scissors set up a spreadsheet where you can track progress of orders (and add your own):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...bXQ2Q3BwbXc2S2NhWUVzVlAxUEE&usp=sharing#gid=0

I've been doing stats based on that document and only 2 orders that had been in the "processing" state yesterday received a date in the last 24 hours.

It's painfully slow but hopefully with 1 week of the month to go those of us with January shipping estimates will see something happen soon.

4 days left, chances getting more grim - my Jan order still has the cancel button next to it so not far along as others where that option disappears

does that option ever disappear before 'processing' appears? i'd always thought the two were linked.

Ordered within the first few hours of release. My 8-core, 512gb SSD, D700 machine finally arrived today over here in Australia. They just scraped in for January on that one ;)

Skin of their teeth, rec'd my shipping email today will arrive Feb 3 but did technically ship in Jan

Just under the wire...

My odds? Absolutely zero!

Just noticed that my "January" order has changed to "Preparing for shipment" status, just under the wire.:D:D:D

I ordered about 8 hours after release so thats me waiting till 28th Feb I guess.

Was hoping to get it mid Feb.

I got mine on Wednesday. A day earlier than Apple predicted and two days earlier than UPS originally predicted, but I think UPS was cracked on that original date.

So far completely awesome, the most powerful computer I've ever used. Seen two glitches so far I'm not sure I can blame the computer for, keeping my eye out.

I finally got my order placed with MacMall Friday Jan 24th after getting the run around with Apple not letting me order 3 units on the same order.

The (1) 6 core/32GB/1TBFL/D500s shipped yesterday. The (2) Quad core/16GB/1TBFL/D300s are on B/O.

Yup. 6c, 32GB, 1TB, D500. Placed my order through the business section at the local Apple store early on 19th December so I can't be sure exactly when they put it on the system, but it was some time that day. It's shown "Available to ship: January" the whole time, and still does at 00:36 on 1st February.

To be fair that's UK time so it's not February at the factory just yet, but since it's not even preparing to ship I have this strange feeling that it won't be on it's way today.

This must be some new definition of the phrase "available to ship", of which I wasn't previously aware. :)

Apple did the funding test on my credit card, but that was taken off about a week ago and nothing else has happened since, so no money has been taken.

I did get the Apple store to chase it a few days ago and they said they couldn't get a definite date but from the info they got back they were hoping it would ship on the 31st or thereabouts. So I assume that should mean any day now, before I lose the will to live. I've already worn out the refresh key in the browser...
