do you all think it would have 4gb standard on all models? what kind of hard drive options? can they really upgrade anything else? would they put a glass screen?

lots of people say the NEW MB and MBP screens are much worse than the existing MBA....considering they are glass, why are they so bad that stats looks about the same...what makes them so bad?

There's been little or no rumors so far, but a fair bit of speculation.

Probably the high-end, low-end is likely to remain 2 GB (BTO to 4 GB probable).

what kind of hard drive options?
I would expect a normal HD boost. 160 GB likely.

can they really upgrade anything else?
Resolution bump maybe, even as a BTO. CPUs to 1.87 GHz and 2.13 GHz. GPU I don't know, any rumors on the successor to the integrated 9400M? As for price, same or maybe lower.

Black gloss frame to match alongside the rest of the macbook series.
4gig.
the new intel chips that sip watts

Those are the most probable in speculations.

4GB memory, I don't see any BTO options as it is hard wired in, not something the BTO workshop can upgrade easily.

Processors likely to be 1.83/2.13.

HDD 160GB, not sure about SSD.

No glass screen as too heavy (and thick?).

No clicky track pad as doesn't fit.

Above is speculation, I don't really know :D I don't see Rev.C being a major overhaul though, they have only just got it right with Rev.B, as it is selling well I think they will just mod it a little inside to keep it cutting edge and save the next design refresh for when the current one starts to look tired.

The rumors are that it will be faster, have a bigger drive, and more RAM.

it will probably has the glass trackpad, but not the glass screen that the others have as that would add weight.

Hope it doesn't get the black bezel of the other mac laptops. Still hasn't grown on me the two tone finish and i think the air is the best looking of the portables. Maybe similar trackpad to the MB and MBP but others have said it would be too thin to sport it.

I'm not the biggest fan of the black bezel. I'm glad the Rev. B kept it's old look. Still, it is a beautiful laptop, that I would only like to see hardware changes, not cosmetic.

none that i've heard of. The last rumor i heard about the macbook air was about Apple experimenting with carbon fiber or something along those lines..

As for when the new macbook air will be released, it's really anyone's guess but definitely by the end of the year.

To make a bolder prediction, I have a feeling it'll be announced together with the new iPhone's which are rumored to have tethering. They'll go perfectly together.

i think the biggest upgrade Apple could do for the macbook air is to give it a SSD and maybe another USB port. That would please most people and isn't too hard to do.

Not sure if they could do the glass screen or trackpad unfortunately.

I expect at least a few of these changes:
4GB RAM
2.13GHz and 1.86GHz processors
250GB HDD or 256GB SSD
glass trackpad
FireWire

This is what I'm hoping for.... would make it a more serious notebook than it is now, and giving real power in its ultra-small package. But I would suspect some battery loss from this(taking up more room, thus shrinking the battery. I would hope for a release either at WWDC(unlikely) or around the holidays.

edit:
Ooops I let that slip... :p

OK, OK, Macbook Pro
I'll bet apples adding a trackpad to the Mac Pro now.... hey, I'd prefer that to a "mighty mouse"

There is only 1 USB port today and the MacBook doesn't have FW. So FireWire in the MBA is very, very unlikely.

I hope for 4GB RAM too. 2GB RAM in the current lineup is my biggest issue. Glass trackpad and 256GB SSD would be nice.

I don't actually expect firewire, but it would be nice to see some added things that seem like improvements to the MacBook. I think the HDD and SSD likely, because it keeps in like with the current disk sizes. Also, Samsung has that new 256GB SSD, which could make an appearance in the Air Rev. C, and maybe a 250GB tobisha 5400rpm? I'd be even more envious of Air owners then I am now!

I they just added a 256GB SSD and 4GB RAM I'm pretty sure I will buy it at $2500. It will be my main machine. I would really like an Air, but I'm waiting until the more of the specs are better than on my old MBP.

Currently, the high-end MBA shares the same price as the high-end MBP 15", which has 4GB of memory. It makes sense for Apple to add an additional 2GB to the high-end MBA as well. A bigger HD/SSD, possibly glass trackpad + screen. I'd also like to see more ports, which would kick the Dell Adamo between the legs real hard.
