Hi All,

How are you all finding the Sport Loops? Are they a pain when keyboard typing? I'm looking at the strap end "Buckle replacement" as a potential pressure point etc. even with a wrist support for the keyboard.

I find my Nike sports strap, the one with the holes through it, a pain as well, so I'm looking at the other options available.

Maybe a bit early for people to properly test all the new options, but how does the Sport Loops compare to the Solo loops?
I'm guessing the Solo loop, with the complete absence of a Buckle/Buckle replacement, it would be the smoothest strap for keyboard work.

Hope you can advise

How long with this sports loop strap take to dry?

After i Go for a cycle ride, it will get pretty sweaty. I would thoroughly soap and wash the S2 Nike band watch, and the plastic strap dries really quickly.

I love the sport loops!

No issues on keyboards. Do you mean laptops, on the side of the touchpad? None there either.
I find the Milanese loop & Link Bracelets bad for that.

Why is the Nike sports band a pain? Just from the metal pin hitting things?

Yes, seems like the solo loops would be best with sport loops being next. I've only tried on the solos so have no every day experience with em yet.

Not that long to dry? Maybe an hour? I've never paid much attention.

Hi T,

Thanks for the feedback :) I’m learning some good stuff on this forum.

I mean wearing the watch typing on both laptop and desktop keyboards.

2 questions:

Q1). With the Sports strap, does the “buckle” end tap to the table as you type away? Or is the end soft pliable plastic?

Q2). With the Sports strap, does the “buckle” drag on the table as you type away, and move the watch around on your wrist?

For me, with my Nike strap, the annoying touch point to the table is where the strap buckles in. When I move my hand around typing, the change in pressure pushes and pulls the strap around, and the watch itself moves around and the pin end can dig into the wrist etc.

I end up taking my watch off, which is a pain as you always wish you had your watch on, when you get up to walk around etc.

Cheers
Martin

Hi T,

Another question :)

Drying time - An hour - Ahhh I thought that might be the case With the fold back strap and breathable fabric.

If I was to unfold if fully and press out as much of the water into a towel, how much quicker do you think it would take to be dry enough to wear to bed? Would it make any difference at all?!

I wear my watch to bed and use “Autosleep” to record how well I slept. Been doing it for the last 3 years, great free app.

I would:
1. wash all the day’s gunk off the watch, dry it, and put on charger
2. Have a shower etc. myself
3. The watch would be charged and bone Dry by time I call it a night and go to bed.

hope you can advise with a guesstimate :)

Martin

Love the sport loops. The Nike sport bands don’t fit me quite right. One hole is too tight and the next one up is too loose. Never had a problem typing or doing any activity with a sport loop.

Hi M,

Cool :)

No tap tapping of the ‘Buckle’ of the strap on the tablets as you type though?

That was driving me nuts couple of weeks ago. I’ve got a mouse wrist rest now, but find the watch uncomfortale on it.

1 no. I've never noticed a tap. but I guess my wrist is pretty steady. I wouldn't say soft pliable, more solid.

I record my sleep time too. There's the new built in sleep in watchOS 7.

O ok, if you're going to actively dry it with a towel I'd guess 10 min or less.

Sometimes I wear mine in the shower & clean it off in there.

Usually I'd wear a Nike band for exercise, where you just wash off any sweat easy. Sometimes I do wear a loop tho.

I find sport bands to be ultra comfortable, but I could imagine it would depend on exactly how they fit you, with regard to whether the end taps on anything. For me, it doesn't come close, but if I had a large wrist and the end were more in the center of my wrist, maybe?

What are Sport Loops like?

They’re like sunshine on a cloudy day
And when it’s cold outside they’re like the month of May
I guess you'd say
What can make me feel this way?

Sport Loops
Talkin' 'bout Sport Loops. Sport Loops!

Alternative answer: supremely comfortable, practical, adjustable and fast-drying. The end cap is lightweight and unobtrusive. You won’t know it’s there.

Hi Double,

Thanks for the info. I don’t have a particularly large wrist, 16cm, so hopefully will not have the end taping the table as I type :)

I think I’m leaning towards this type of strap for its adjustability.

Hi MJ,

I know what you mean. I just got use to it with the nike band.

Its just keyboard typing I’m finding the current band annoying. Taken the watch off now for example :)

My favourite style of strap for the watch, very comfortable and I use a keyboard for at least eight to ten hours/day.

Now that‘s what I‘m talking about!

All day working from home.

funnily enough I was fine in the office with the watch. I’ve got to the point of looking for the exact wrist pads as the office. However, on amazon, all the reviews are saying the new ones are rubbish compared to the old pads, I got years ago - rubbish

Loving the replies Art :)

The concise end replies - perfect - fast drying!

Maybe a bit early for people to properly test all the new options, but how does the Sport Loops compare to the Solo loops?

Long time Sport Loop user, also a long time Nike+ Sport Band user.

I like the Sport Loop better than the Sport Band - particularly for sweaty workouts and after-shower usage. While the holey Nike+ sport bands are nice, the fabric sport loops do better at wicking away moisture and drying quickly. Sport loops are also better IMHO for fine-tuning fitment.

Looking at the Solo Loops I'm skeptical. I find my wrist size changes notable subject to temperature / environment, and would be concerned that a Solo Loop comfortable for normal usage would be too loose on a cold winter day. I'd also be concerned that over time it'd stretch out and require replacement sooner than a band which is adjustable.

As for keyboard usage - that's going to depend on the individual. I do find that flipping my sport loop the other way round (top to bottom, as Apple once recommended for swimming) avoids the tag end from being on the palm rest. YMMV.

Hi again Mr T :)

Many thanks again for all the info.

How are you getting on with the WatchOS 7 sleep app?

I’ve been using “auto sleep” as I say, and it is really informative. Does the apple sleep app compare data wise To what you’ve used before?

Hi D,

I’m thinking exactly the same!

Thanks for your experience with those exact watch straps :)

Also, great idea with putting the strap the other way. I’ve also tried that with my current nike strap... with the face upside down, while I trIed it out. Didn’t work - the Pin was just in the wrong place - shame. Be great to try with the sports loop.

hey mr MM - I was just adding the info manually, so it's way better.

It shows how long you're in bed & when you go to sleep & how many times you wake up.

Mine doesn’t tap because I have a really small wrist - so the plastic end piece is all the way on the far side of my wrist when it’s on.

Thats cool! :)

I’ve got fairly small wrists as well, so hope its the same case for me as well.

and if not, attaching it other way round if you need to, with the "fold" at the top of the watch rather than the bottom.

Hi Dee,

Been wearing the sports loop for about a week now. Yup, the other way around works best for me.

Many thanks for the tip! :)
