What are your favorite PC games that have demos?

Alex here.

I've recently scrapped some parts together and built myself a PC (see my signature) for gaming purposes. After getting it configured and loading WoW, Diablo III, and my CoD games, I've decided that I want more games.

Like the cheap guy I am, I have decided to run demos of any games before deciding whether or not to purchase them. What games can you guys recommend that have demos?
 
Thanks for the recommendation. Coudn't find the exact game you recommended in demo form, but I did find a Age of Empires III demo.

So far, these are the demos I've downloaded, and games I own.

-Age of Empires III
-Amnesia: The Dark Descent
-Batman: Arkham Asylum
-Battlefield 2
-Crysis (original)
-Call of Duty (original)
-Call of Duty 2

Crysis is a great game, it doesn't need a demo, just buy the game. However, do note that your GPU might have a bit a of a problem handling it.

I also further note that you will likely not find the game on its own. It will most likely be bundled with Crysis Warhead, a tie-in for a intent and purposes.
 
Really? My NVIDIA card has been pretty good with all of the games I've tried...

My computer could run the demo on all "Low" settings, but nowhere near a tolerant level in my opinion. Plus, what's the point of Crysis running on all "Low" anyways!

I will be upgrading in the future so it's no big deal. Will be purchasing an Ivy Bridge motherboard, NVIDIA 560Ti, 16GB RAM, etc. Should be all good with games at that time.

If anything get the HD750 or GTX 670
 
An old MMO that's still #1 in my heart after 11 years is Anarchy Online - they have a no limit free to play option that excludes much of the expansion content. Still a great game, just wish the population was higher than it is today.
 
Batman: Arkham Asylum was a good one that intrigued me a lot. I think providing demos is a very good idea in general, just like a trial period in any paid software tool.
I also played demo for Crysis and BloodLust: Vampire Shadowhunter and liked them as well.
 
Team Fortress 2 - free to play.

I swear I'll be playing this till Steam dies.
 
Sleeping Dogs has a demo on Steam, playing that sold me on the game.

Crysis for teh graphix

The first thing I did when I installed bootcamp was try the Crysis demo. I was able to run it almost at maximum settings at 1280x1024 with my 8800GT :cool:.

I finally realised what I had missed...so I bought a PC 5870 and HP LP2475W for gaming among other things and bought the full edition. Alas, Crysis 2 has defeated my 5870 and I can't play it maxed out.
