What are YOUR temps?

So what are the temps of your mini? My 2.5 i5 2012 mini idles at about 125-130 degrees. Hottest it's ever gotten has been about 170.

When it is working hard, around 90*C (200*F). Pretty much normal.

There is a whole bunch of temperatures, not one.
- CPU can go up to 100°C, mine runs at 70°C max
- HD should stay under 50°C
- Air intake above 40-45°C can cause trouble. That means either the ventilation channel is dirty or your room temperature is too high.

I am assuming you are talking about the CPU Die?

For my 2012 2.6GHz

97-100ºC (207-212ºF) at 100% CPU (e.g. Handbrake). Depends on the ambient temp. It is fairly warm where I am usually. If the room is cold is can run lower temps at peak CPU.

50-60ºC (122-140ºF) at idle.

I wish you North Americans would sort out your horrid imperial measurement system. You need to catch up with the world.

The temp issue has been covered in many threads. There was a few huge threads on this around December 2012 if you want to check. The mini easily handles these temps. The max temp on the 2012 i7 quad's CPU is 105ºC. I have run the mini a few times at 100ºc for 24+ hours. All good.

Having said that, I also run Tuniq TX-4 thermal paste and sit the mini in a Newer Tech side stand.

Right now just using Safari: 108 F. I've seen it as high as 210 F when cranking on the CPU. You idle temp will differ depending on what your room temperature is.

Macs Fan Control

I installed Macs Fan Control and it's really awesome app lets you control the fan speed and make it kick a bit earler so you will never get any high temps.

my Mac mini i7 2.3 late 2012 idle on 37c (room temp. 21c)
on normal load (safari, Xcode, photoshop) never goes above 70c
on high load (encoding video, handbrake) jumps till 100c But after installing that app with high load never above 87c, I configure the software to kick the fan on 70c instate of 97c (by default) so the fan can go up to 5200 rpm when needed to keep the CPU cool check out the app:

my 2011 server idles in the mid to high 30's° C(in the winter, up to 45° in the summer). I've cleaned the factory thermal paste off and applied arctic silver though.

I use smcfancontrol and have it set to 2600 rpm default. Still silent and runs between 40 and 65 most of the time. I did not like the high temps right out of the box.
