What can a college student do to truly take advantage of MM?

I sync my iCal/Calendar events with MobileMe, but that's about it. I feel like there's so much more I could do, but don't know where to start. What are some ways you guys take advantage of what MM has that I can do as well? Any college-student specific things that can be done?

I plan on utilizing MobileMe when I enter college this fall as well. I'm hoping that the service becomes free and adds a lot of the new features that are rumored to be coming. What I was thinking of doing was totally syncing my MBP and my iPod Touch and using them together to keep track of everything. I'm going to totally sync emails, contacts, and calendars across both devices. I also plan on using the iPod Touch as a sort of organizer. There are plenty of 3rd party applications out there at act as productivity suites that also sync with iCal and MobileMe, usually with software for both Mac OS X and iOS. I'll probably go with either OmniFocus or Things (though they are both rather expensive but I hear worth the price). From there, I can update my to-do lists and calendar right when I get assignments in class on my iPod Touch and it will automatically sync with my MBP.

Graduating this semester, currently using MobileMe. Here's my experience.

I have used google sync (contacts, calendar, email) + Dropbox (file storage) for all together, three years. That is a fantastic solution. The Google services work best when used via the website, not through apple applications (iCal/Mail/Address Book). When you try to use google services in Apple software, strange things are much more likely to occur. i.e. conflicting contacts, duplications, syncing not working correctly. Though when I use the web interface (I don't want to) the calendar works a lot better.

My experience with MobileMe for this past year and a half has been much different. Everything syncs perfectly. Since I have a MBP, iPad, iPhone this is important to me. Obviously, the made for Apple service by Apple works better.

Again, this is just my experience.

Here's how MobileMe helps me for college.
-Constant access to my bookmarks, snyc'ed across all my devices! (Google can only do this with Chrome and just on PC/Mac)
-Calendar, invaluable for project deadlines and homework due dates
-Notes, sync'ed with my iPhone/iPad and in Mail on Mac. I use this for my homework list
-iDisk (basically Dropbox) is extremely helpful. I can't tell you how much better life is knowing you have that term paper saved to the cloud in case of the old "my computer died/hdd died" woes. I love being able to read powerpoint slides/pdf documents on my iPhone/iPad while moving around too.
-Photo sharing is nice too, works great with iPhoto and provides alot of storage through MobileMe


Evernote is great too to keep track of quick notes or things you want to remember.

Yeah, I feel like Notes is such a vague app, but with it going to Mail, I really ought to start making notes to myself about homework more often.

I feel like I neglect a whole side of MM by not using the website. Are there any real substantial advantages to using the website?

iDisk is basically Dropbox? Dropbox destroys iDisk. You could say its a matter of opinion, but Dropbox is much more streamlined and requires very little work to really get it set up.
