Other what can I do to make FaceID unlock iPhone in horizontal position?(for example, when mounted on a tripod)

what can I do to make FaceID unlock iPhone in horizontal position?(for example, when mounted on a tripod)

right now, I get around this in 2 stupid ways: tilt my head 90 degrees and look at the phone.... or pick the tripod and phone up and tilt it 90 degrees... both unlock just find like that... but like I said, kind of silly...

I have tried registering the alternative FaceID with the phone in horizon position, but that didn't really solve this....

any advice appreciated!

You can't do anything, Faceid will only work in the portrait position.

Maybe its the pro models only?? Cuz it works 360 for me

There’s no FaceID on the iPad mini 6. The Pro iPads can do FaceID in all orientations; iPhones only in portrait.

How can you not know that Mini has no FaceID if you can't even register your face with it?

This is possibly my biggest disappointment with the 13 (though I’m not ? about it any more).

Would’ve thought they could add the iPad Pro’s True Depth camera onto the iPhone by now…

just tried two older iPhones(12 and XR)... both are just like the 13... wouldn't recognize the face in horizontal mode... oh well.... hope the 14 will have the capability.

Well of course it would be like the 13 seeing that horizontal FaceID was never an option to begin with for any FaceID iPhone.

I'm just going to wait for evolution to take its course... one days humans will have their heads at a 90-degree angle, compared to today's humans.
